In 2019 we had the vision to create the first wellbeing festival in our local area of Marlow, Buckinghamshire…

Our Story

The Oh Shala Festival came together through a group of people who wanted to bring more sense of a community to the Marlow area. We realised quickly that the surrounding areas of Buckinghamshire and Berkshire had hidden treasures of wellbeing that we wanted to share far and wide. We would consider the festival more of a ‘gathering’ keeping it grassroots, local and about connection.

We hope to offer people a new way to look at wellbeing in a safe, non judgmental space that allows you to express however you need.

So here is our celebration of all things Yoga, Meditation, Sound, Dance, Art and Therapy within a family oriented, sober & vegan space. Each year we highlight the work of local charities with 2022 raising over £1000 for Marlow Refugee Action and 2023 we are working with One Can Trust - Buckinghamshires Food Bank.

This weekend takes a team of incredible people including volunteers, facilitators, local businesses and the land we are lucky to have our festival on, Chiltern Retreats Camping.

We welcome you all with open arms to embrace community and celebrate nature,

THIS YEAR WE ARE SUPPORTING DASH CHARITY

We provide specialist support to adults and children experiencing mental health issues, modern slavery, immigration, trafficking, homelessness and complex needs associated with Domestic Abuse, empowering them to live a life beyond crisis and ensuring their voices are heard.

We help victims access free legal help, obtain injunctions, arrange for them to have screens and video-links if giving evidence at court and we will support them on the day.

We also speak up for them and advocate on their behalf with housing teams, police, social care. We provide safety devices to help them feel safer in their own home and help source donations of anything they need to make their life a little easier or a little brighter whilst they are trying to stay safe.

Our programmes help women, children and men recognise tactics of abuse, so they can feel more empowered and break the cycle of abuse.
